The work of Jorge Pinheiro is based on principles of mathematics and semiotics and is particularly inspired by the famous sequence of Fibonacci, an Italian mathematician of the 12th century, according to which each successive number results from the sum of the two previous numbers.
The presence of geometric modulations and patterns of high chromatic contrast is combined with a very thorough exploration of the notions of rhythm and seriality, whose formalization highlights the artist's interest in the field of music.
