PR4 - VNF

Intended for the general public, this circular route runs along 17,5 km between the villages of Gondifelos and Gemunde, and it is recommended to take it clockwise. Starting at the church of Gondifelos, its objective is not only the tourist development of the local religious and archaeological heritage, but also the eco-track built over the old Póvoa branch, which the visitor follows for about a third of the route.

After visiting Gemunde, the route takes place mostly in a forested area until Castro de Penices, a proto-historic village based on a meander of the river Este, a river on which the Romanesque bridge of Gravateira stands nearby. It then follows a stretch of great scenic beauty along the river and returns to Gondifelos on the line from the eco-track, crossing the cultivated fields that mark the landscape and constitute one of the engines of the local economy.
