The 23rd edition of Jazz in the Box focuses its attention on the female universe of Jazz. The Eixo do Jazz emphasises the various influences of Jazz, not only the original American jazz, but also the "place", the sounds and language, the traditional music of their country, the environment in which the musicians live, between Portugal and Galicia.
Jazz in the Box is a project that aims to capture audiences for jazz by bringing the audience physically closer to the artists, creating an almost intimate relationship between the two, and crossing Galician and Portuguese musicians. It was founded in 2017 by O Eixo do Jazz and was supported by the Municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão from 2018, in partnership with ATC, and from 2022 with Narciso Ferreira Theatre.
