After his success in the NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) during the 1950s and 60s, Fritz Von Erich (born Jack Barton Adkisson in 1929) became the trainer of Kevin, David, Kerry and Mike, four of his six sons. But his domineering and demanding personality created enormous pressure on the boys, encouraging competition between them without ever giving them room for failure, resulting in several triumphs, but also in a major family tragedy. ‘The Iron Claw’ shows the story of this clan from the point of view of Kevin, the only surviving brother, whose sons Ross, Marshall and Lacey became the third generation of Von Erich in the ring. A drama directed and written by Sean Durkin (‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’, ‘The Nest’) that tells the story of the Von Erich family, famous in the competitive world of North American professional wrestling.
