Carlos Costa and Dulce Félix win the Famalicão Half Marathon

Athletes Carlos Costa and Dulce Félix were victorious in the Famalicão Half Marathon. The 9th edition of the race took to the streets of Famalicão yesterday, with 2,500 participants who didn't let the rain deter them.

The mayor, Mário Passos, accompanied by the event’s godmother, athlete Vanessa Carvalho, who marked the start of the 21-kilometre race and the 10-kilometre run/walk, fired the starting gun.

Carlos Costa, an athlete from the Grupo Desportivo e Cultural de Guilhovai, was the winner of the Famalicão Half Marathon, covering 21 kilometres in 01:07:48.

In the men's category, second place went to Daniel Pinheiro, from the PAC Running Academy, with a time of 01:07:50, and third on the podium went to Hermano Ferreira, from the Coimbra Athletics School, with 01:07:56.

In the women's category, Dulce Félix, a Sport Lisboa e Benfica athlete, who managed to complete the race in 01:16:20, took the highest position on the podium. In second place did Doroteia Peixoto, an athlete from Amigos da Montanha, with 01:20:47, follow Filomena Costa, from ACD Jardim da Serra, with 01:16:58.

It should also be noted that in the 10-kilometre race, André Pereira, from Sport Lisboa e Benfica, was the first to cross the finish line at 00:29:53, and in the women's category, Rafaela Fonseca, from RD Águeda, was the fastest, crossing the finish line at 00:34:44.
